Review of Mark DeJong and the Outer Bridge Ensemble’s music.
Mark Dejong is a Jazz God when it comes to his music. The power of Mark Dejong’s appeal is his amazing ability of the tenor saxophone. From the very moment that one hears the first note to the last, Mark Dejong’s abilities of the tenor saxophone will simply be amazing. Add the equally skills of Steve Hudson (piano), Jerome Jennings (drums), David Freeman (percussion), and Mike Noordzy (bass) and you have a sensational sound that will entertain for hours.
When the five men are merged together, the outcome is known as Mark Dejong and the Outer Bridge Ensemble. What makes this meeting of great musical minds work so well is the outcome of what fans hear with Mark’s music. Overall, Mark Dejong and the Outer Bridge Ensemble’s music is an epic journey of various rhythmic sections that will capture the hearts of all Jazz music lovers alike.

New Music Spotlight May 2009 Edition
Viv Peyrat
Viv Peyrat
He has one of the most amazing voices that I have heard in a long time. And his vocals will simply melt you away when you hear him sing. He beautifully blends Acoustics, Electrics, Pop, Rock, Funk, Blues, & R&B into wonderful melodious tunes. He also happens to be a super talented guitarist who when one hears him perform will instantly be mesmerized. Who is this artist? He is the amazing Viv Peyrat and this is his story.
Isaac: How do you sum up 2008 for Viv Peyrat?
Viv: Well 2008 was a big year because I decided to leave my band and start to do things on my own. I moved back east and started writing songs in November 2008 to end up recording my first EP as a solo artist in January 2009.
Isaac: Expound a little about growing up in Pennsylvania.
Viv: My hometown of Abington is awesome. We're 20 minutes from Philadelphia, so it's not a middle of nowhere town; it's actually real chill.
Isaac: What do you feel was your biggest accomplishment for 2008?
Viv: Deciding to do things on my own.
Isaac: You recently went solo for the 1st time. Describe how this transition has been for you.
Viv: It was scary at first because I was so used to playing in bands all the time, but I've gotten great feedback so far from everyone so I'm feeling great about the change.
Isaac: Elaborate a little about whom were your biggest influences in the music industry and why?
Viv: I have a million influences. My main ones would have to be Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, The Beatles, John Mayer, and Bob Marley; they made and still make amazing music, with a ton of heart to it.
Isaac: Let's talk about what you feel you will bring to the music industry as a solo artist?
Viv: I think I have a lot to bring. I'm trying to find a good mix between songwriting and guitar solos and melodies, and bring it all together using different styles of music.
Isaac: If you had an opportunity to work with one artist or group, who would it be and why?
Viv: I would love to work with John Mayer; I'm sure I'd be able to learn so much from him.
Isaac: How would you describe your music to others?
Viv: It's a mix of Pop and Rock, and Reggae and Blues, with some guitar solos thrown on top. I would describe it as heartfelt positive music.
Isaac: What is your definition for Rock Music?
Viv: Rock music to me is anything with energy, and anything that gets you hyped and excited. I don't believe in categorizing music but rock definitely has to have that edge to it.
Isaac: What type of feedback have you received from your previous releases?
Viv: Well this is my first release, and it's getting great feedback. Everyone from little kids to older adults dig it, so I'm really happy with the response.
Isaac: What can fans expect from your EP released in January 2009? What is the inspiration behind this EP?
Viv: They can expect some feel good music. It's something they can dance and move to. I guess the inspiration is a mix of making a big change in my life, and my girlfriend, and kind of how I felt at the end of 2008.
Isaac: What can fans expect from Viv Peyrat in 2009?
Viv: A lot. I'm going to be writing a bunch, and playing a ton of shows. I'll have some new songs out at the end of April, so they can definitely expect a lot of new things.
Isaac: Time for some shout outs to your family, friends, and fans.
Viv: I want to say thanks to my family and friends for supporting me 200% and for being the coolest people in the world.
Isaac: Final words from Viv Peyrat.
Viv: I want to say thank you to anyone that's ever made beautiful music. You've touched my heart, and I want to say thank you to anyone that's ever supported me. Look out for me in 2009 :-) Big things are on the way.
If you are tired of your run of the mill raps, then LB is going to give you something fresh and innovative with his unique lyrical style of rapping. LB has managed to create a fun and hyper sick combination of tracks that have something for everyone. If you are looking for club bangers or party like rock star tracks to real-life struggles lyrics, then LB’s latest collections of new songs are a sure winner.
One of the tracks that I can not get enough of is titled Dat Get’em Girl, a fun song about the beauty of the female and all she has to offer. But, if you are looking for other types of lyrical styles, then LB can deliver.
For this latest collection of new songs, I give LB’s project a smooth B+
